The invention provides a method for detecting the state of a brake, and the method comprises the steps: adjusting the current in a brake coil of the brake, enabling a brake part of the brake to leave from a first position and move to a second position; collecting a first current of the brake coil when the brake component leaves the position; determining a first electromagnetic force according to the first current and a preset relation model; calculating a second electromagnetic force according to the first electromagnetic force; when the brake component is located at the second position, the current in the brake coil is adjusted to enable the brake component to leave from the second position; collecting a second current of the brake coil when the brake component leaves the second position; and determining a gap from the preset relation model based on the second electromagnetic force and the second current. The invention further provides a corresponding system and an elevator brake.
