The invention discloses a braking energy recovery method and system based on an OneBox braking system, and belongs to the technical field of braking energy recovery. The method comprises the steps that the braking intention of a vehicle is collected in real time, and the braking intention is used for judging whether the vehicle is about to enter a braking state or not; distribution of electric braking and hydraulic braking is conducted on the vehicle according to the braking intention, and the braking requirement is determined; sending a braking energy recovery signal based on the braking demand; whether the vehicle is in an unstable state or not is judged, and if yes, the wheel side torque of the vehicle is increased; when the vehicle is not in an unstable state, the vehicle control unit receives a braking energy recovery signal and drives the motor to rotate reversely so as to recover braking energy; the braking energy is stored in the battery pack. The problem that the braking energy recovery efficiency is not high due to the fact that braking energy recovery quits once the ABS is triggered can be solved, and therefore the braking energy recovery efficiency of the vehicle is effectively improved.
