The invention is suitable for the technical field of underwater navigation equipment, and provides a polar region icebreaking type aircraft which comprises a main body and a water jet cutting device arranged on the main body, the water jet cutting device comprises a high-pressure pump and a cutting spray head, the input end of the high-pressure pump is used for sucking water flow from the outer side of the main body, and the water jet cutting device is used for cutting the water flow from the outer side of the main body. The output end of the high-pressure pump communicates with the cutting spray head through a first guide pipe, the high-pressure pump is used for providing high-pressure power for water flow, and the cutting spray head is used for spraying water jet flow to cut an ice layer on the water surface. Water flow is sucked in from the water area where the aircraft runs through the high-pressure pump and pressurized, the pressurized water flow is led to the cutting spray head through the first guide pipe and sprayed out through the cutting spray head, and water jet is formed to cut the ice layer on the water surface. Thus, water flow is sucked from the water area where the aircraft travels and used for cutting the ice layer, enough water flow can be used for cutting, and the aircraft can work for a long time to achieve continuous ice breaking.
