本发明公开了一种电池热失控的预警方法及新能源汽车,属于新能源汽车电池技术领域,所述方法包括:通过电池管理系统(BMS)在每次对新能源汽车充满电时记录电芯的最高电压和最低电压,并根据每次记录的电芯的最高电压和最低电压计算每次的容量差,再通过相邻的两个容量差计算电芯的漏电流,以及计算两次相邻充满电的时间间隔内电池组中最低电压电芯的平均电压,从而计算出两次相邻充满电的时间间隔内电池组中最低电压电芯的短路电阻,当计算出两组相邻的短路电阻时,由电池管理系统(BMS)根据相关条件判断是否需要进行电池热失控预警,若判断满足相关条件,则进行电池热失控预警。即通过本发明能够在电池发生热失控前进行预警。
