The present disclosure provides a steering yoke design for improved quietness. A yoke for a steering assembly including a rack shaft and a pinion gear disposed at a gearbox may include: a first circumscribed groove extending around an outer diameter of the yoke to receive a first circumscribed O-ring to suppress noise generation by contact between the yoke and the gearbox, and a second circumscribed groove extending around an outer diameter of the yoke to receive a second circumscribed O-ring to suppress noise generation by contact between the yoke and the gearbox; and a first transverse groove disposed at a tip portion of the yoke between the pinion and the first O-ring assembly to receive a first transverse O-ring. The first circumscribed groove lies in a first plane substantially perpendicular to an axis of the yoke, and the first lateral groove lies in a second plane substantially perpendicular to the first plane on a first lateral side of the yoke.
