The invention provides an elevator counterweight housing capable of improving safety. The elevator counterweight housing ensures long-term stable and safe operation of an elevator. The counterweight frame comprises a bottom supporting block, two side vertical rods and a top cross rod; a plurality of counterweight blocks; the eccentric wheel is of a two-side symmetrical structure and comprises a center line; the lifting adjusting rod is sleeved with a sliding block; and a transmission connecting rod. A plurality of stacked counterweight blocks fixed in position are arranged on a bottom supporting block of the counterweight frame, inwards-concave vertical rail grooves are formed in the inner sides of the vertical rods on the two sides correspondingly, the top transverse rod is located in the top area of the counterweight frame in the height direction, and a gap is reserved between the top transverse rod and the top face of the counterweight frame. The upper portion of the center line of the eccentric wheel is connected with the transverse center position of the top transverse rod through a first pivot joint shaft, and the lower portion of the center line of the eccentric wheel is in pivot joint with one end of the transmission connecting rod.
