The invention discloses a pivot steering method and system for a vehicle with four-wheel hub motors and the vehicle, and belongs to the technical field of automobiles. The method comprises the steps that in response to a pivot steering function starting signal of the vehicle, steering information of the vehicle is obtained, and the steering information comprises the steering angle, the current vehicle speed and the rotating direction; based on the steering angle and the current vehicle speed, whether the vehicle meets in-situ steering starting conditions or not is judged; if yes, a target wheel set is determined according to the rotation direction, and the target wheel set comprises two wheels on the same side in the vehicle; according to the target wheel set, the driving direction of each wheel edge motor in the vehicle and the wheel speed of the target wheel set are determined, and a steering instruction is generated; and controlling the vehicle to execute pivot steering based on the steering instruction. In this way, pivot steering of the vehicle in a narrow space environment can be achieved, meanwhile, the vehicle is more stable in the pivot steering process, and the driving comfort of a driver is improved.
