The invention relates to the technical field of marine observation, and particularly discloses an observation device for coping with severe weather on the sea, comprising: a first floating body capable of switching positions on the water surface and underwater; the buckling device can be buckled on the first floating body; the at least one sea surface observation device is mounted on the buckling device, and the sea surface observation device is used for acquiring sea surface data information; the protection mechanism is fixed to the outer side of the outer wall of the first floating body, and an inner cavity of the protection mechanism can store a balance weight body or air. The second floating body can be switched between the water surface position or the underwater position opposite to the first floating body position, and a balance weight body or air can be stored in an inner cavity of the second floating body. The connecting rope is fixedly connected between the first floating body and the second floating body, and the counterweight body or air can be conveyed into the connecting rope. The main purpose of the invention is to realize flexible adjustment of the floating and sinking state and prevent the equipment from being damaged under complex sea conditions.
