The invention relates to a range extender control method and device, equipment, a storage medium and a program product, and relates to the technical field of new energy automobiles. The method is executed by a hybrid power control system of the extended-range automobile and comprises the steps that the charge state and the required power of the extended-range automobile are obtained; when the required power is smaller than the battery discharge power of the range extending type automobile and the charge state of the range extending type automobile meets the first charge state, a range extender is started; stopping the range extender when the required power is smaller than the battery discharge power of the range extending type automobile and the charge state of the range extending type automobile meets the second charge state; the second charge state is greater than the first charge state; under the condition that the required power is larger than the battery discharge power of the extended-range automobile, a starting threshold value is obtained; starting a range extender under the condition that the required power is greater than a starting threshold value; and under the condition that the required power is smaller than the starting threshold value, the range extender is stopped.
