A pneumatic valve arrangement (100) for controlling an air flow (F) of compressed air (102) is disclosed. The valve arrangement comprises: a valve unit comprising an input port (1) and an output port (2) for receiving and providing compressed air; and an actuator unit (106) configured to actuate (A) a pneumatic connection (108) between the input port and the output port. The valve control unit (110) is configured to determine a respective actuation function (AFi) associated with each of a plurality of available airflow characteristics (Ci), determine a target airflow characteristic (CT) from the plurality of available airflow characteristics for conveying compressed air (102) through the pneumatic valve unit (104), and using an actuation function associated with the target airflow characteristic (CT) to control the actuator unit to deliver compressed air (102) according to the target airflow characteristic (CT).
