The invention relates to a rotary thermal engine having air/steam pressure and a generator drive, in an electric vehicle having an additional compressed air tank, which is filled at base stations by off-peak electricity systems and automatically charges its own batteries when parked. According to the invention, time-consuming charging processes by means of insufficient service networks in today's electric vehicles can be eliminated and heavy, expensive batteries can be reduced in size. This is achieved by the additional reaction cells (1 or 2) in the cylinder core and additional modifications. This creates an intake of hot air, a compression in the reaction cells (1 or 2), which are heated by heating rods and, during the compressed air injection at 40 bar, an explosive expansion, which continues into the working spaces C or D and causes a release of the hot air. Air inlet and outlet openings are provided, which are controlled by a control bushing (12) arranged in the interior cylinder (3) and a Geneva drive (72) or step motor (140), wherein the rotors are blocked against reverse rotation by a current brake. During H2O or liquid CO2 injection, steam pressure is created and after releasing the air mixture,-liquid and air separated by cooling-,re-supplied to the closed circuits at optimal temperature.
