A hull frictional resistance reducing device for reducing the frictional resistance of a running hull by generating air bubbles and forming an air bubble film (8) on the bottom surface of the hull comprises an air chamber (22a) disposed on the bottom (5) of the interior of the hull, a plurality of air jet apertures arranged in a row in the bottom (5) of the hull forming the bottom of the air chamber (22a), and a sea chest (35) so disposed on the bottom (5) as to cover the air chamber (22a), whereby the maintenance of the air chamber (22a) can be easily performed, and the hull can be formed of such a watertight structure that sea water does not intrude into the interior of the hull.
