Provided is an overcurrent protection apparatus (10) that is connectable to a battery control unit (C) to protect the battery control unit (C) from an overcurrent. The overcurrent protection apparatus (10) includes a fuse member (16) that is provided with a fuse (17) and a fusible wire (18) that is connected in series to the fuse (17). The fusible wire (18) is made of a conductor that has a melting point lower than that of copper, and has a fusing current value that is higher than that of the fuse (17). The fuse member (16) is connected in series to the battery control unit (C).
