A locked state and an unlocked state are achieved in a charging port device for an electric vehicle according to the present invention, in which an operation of releasing a state of engagement between an engaging part of a charging connector and an engaged part of a charging port is restricted by the action of a restricting member in the locked state, and the operation of releasing the state of engagement is allowed in the unlocked state. The lock mechanism, when the restricting member is moved to a predetermined position which corresponds to a locked state or an unlocked state, imparts a torque using a motor up to an inner-side position short of the predetermined position, and moves the restricting member from the inner-side position to the predetermined position using a toggle spring provided between the restricting member and the vehicle body side.
