The invention is related to a rope suspension device with at least one rope suspension module 8 that is adapted for suspension of at least one rope 8c from a rotorcraft, said rope suspension module 8 comprising at least one lockable load beam 10 that is rotatable around an axis of rotation 10a between a locked state and an unlocked state and that is adapted for supporting in said locked state at least one rope 8c that is to be suspended from said rope suspension module 8, said at least one lockable load beam 10 being, upon unlocking in operation, rotatable from said locked state around said axis of rotation 10a into said unlocked state at least on the basis of a load that is applied to said at least one lockable load beam 10 by means of at least one rope 8c that is supported by said at least one lockable load beam 10.
