Provided are a tire rubber composition providing excellent handling stability and a pneumatic tire including the tire rubber composition. Included is a tire rubber composition which contains at least one rubber component, at least one silica, and at least one compound represented by the following formula (I):wherein R1 represents a hydrocarbon group; and R2 and R3 are the same or different and each represent a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group, or a -(AO)n-H group where n represents an integer of 1 or larger, n for R2 and n for R3 may be the same as or different from each other, and each AO is the same or different and represents an oxyalkylene group having 2 or more carbon atoms, and at least one of R2 or R3 is a -(AO)n-H group, and which has an acetone extractable content of lower than 16.0% by mass.
