The invention relates to a sensor system (1) for detecting the position of a car (101) of an elevator installation (100), which car (101) can be moved along an elevator shaft (102), comprising: a measuring strip (2) which can be vertically arranged in the elevator shaft (102) and which extends in a longitudinal direction (L) in the assembled state, said measuring strip having a position code (3) formed by a material change; and a sensor unit (4) which can be arranged on the car (101) and which is designed to detect a magnetic field, in particular a stray magnetic field, influenced or caused by the position code (3) on the entrance side and to generate at least one analog signal (10) on the exit side, the sensor system (1) comprising a conversion unit (5) and a calibration unit (7), the conversion unit is used for converting the at least one analog signal (10) into a digital signal (11), and wherein the calibration unit (7) is designed to modify the digital signal (11) by means of a static calibration and/or a dynamic calibration.
