The invention relates to an energy consumption-reduced override protection for rail vehicles for assembling on a rail vehicle in the region of a buffer of the rail vehicle and for preventing the car body of the rail vehicle from moving over the car body of a colliding rail vehicle or vice versa, comprising a securing section for securing the override protection to the rail vehicle and/or to the buffer and comprising a collision section for mechanically interacting with an override protection on the other colliding rail vehicle. The invention is characterized in that the collision section has a contact and guide section with a finger-like design which points in the travel direction or opposite the travel direction and a support section which connects the contact and guide section to the securing section and is oriented vertically to the travel direction, wherein the contact and guide section and the support section together have at least two finger-like structures which protrude radially from a common center over their extension.
