The invention relates to a method for testing a determined RFID transponder that is to be mounted on a tyre but is not already mounted thereon, using a communication device (4) that has a bandwidth lower than 1500 MHz covering at least the frequency interval [850 MHz, 950 MHz]. The transponder is immersed in a liquid homogenous monophase medium formed by a mixture of two liquids of different dielectric permittivity, said liquid monophase medium being adjusted to the RFID transponder in order to reduce the resonance frequency of the antenna of the transponder in relation to its resonance frequency in the air and to bring said resonance frequency back into the bandwidth of the communication device (4).
