A foldable tent frame comprises a base 1, a frame 2 and a controlling mechanism. The frame includes a pair of support sets each having upper 22, lower 23 and a supporting pole 21 connected in sequence. The controlling mechanism comprises a pair of piston mechanisms 3 having telescopic rods 32 actuated by a driving device 33. One end of each piston mechanism is attached to the base, whilst the other is pivotally connected to either the upper or the lower support poles, allowing the frame to be expanded or retracted automatically. The rod may be attached to a pivot module 35 between the upper and lower poles. The frame may further include an auxiliary U-shaped supporting pole 25 attached to the pivot module.
