A vibration isolating plate, suitable for multirotor drones, has a low vibration area 5 with connections 9 to the drone’s body 2 at nodal points (fig.4,7) associated with specific modes of vibration, but otherwise disconnected from the rest of the parts of the drone body by separation features 8. Depending on the number of arm attachment points, there may multiple connection points, each located midway between adjacent arm attachment points. The disconnection from the body may be achieved by providing separating features such as a soft, flexible, thinner, or less rigid material, or a slot, engineered to minimize energy transfer from the body to the low vibration area. The plate may be formed from separate parts or be integral with the body, the connection points formed by material between two separating features. The location of the connections is determined based on resonant modes of the body allowing for vibration attenuation for specific modes of vibration, reducing transmission of the rotor’s vibrations to sensitive components such as sensors, cameras and precision instruments.
