Control method during one-pedal driving, by determining braking torque demand depending on accelerator pedal position, determining electric powertrain 122 deceleration torque available, and if the braking torque demand exceeds the available electric braking torque, the foundation brake 112 (e.g. friction brake discs or drums) are engaged. The friction brakes 112 may be used in combination with electric braking (e.g. regenerative braking). The available electric brake torque may depend on battery state of charge (SoC), temperature, condition of the battery and/or inverter, or speed of vehicle, or may be a predefined electric deceleration torque threshold. Available friction brake deceleration torque may be calculated based on temperature or condition of the friction brake components. Braking torque demand request may be calculated from a deceleration profile.
