A composite elongate tubular guide sleeve 104 for a fastener 112 of a powertrain mounting 102, has a rigid body portion (130, fig 5) formed of a first material and a compressible body portion (132, fig 5) formed of a second material with a lower modulus of elasticity, and a bore 123 for the fastener 112. The compressible body portion 132 may be rubber for axially deformation, extend over a minor length of the sleeve, and be a frustoconical funnel-shape to guide the fastener tip 115. The sleeve 104 protects a powertrain mounting isolator from damage during assembly to a vehicle chassis, and absorbs tolerance stackup.
