PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep detection precision of line of sight position of a driver high.SOLUTION: Brightness around a vehicle is detected, and if a change amount in brightness around a vehicle exceeds a predetermined amount, a line of sight position detected by a line of sight detection means is calibrated. It is thought that, if the change amount in brightness around the vehicle becomes larger, the detection precision of the line of sight position is easy to degrade. When the change amount in brightness around the vehicle exceeds a predetermined amount, the line of sight position detected by the line of sight detection means is calibrated. Thus, by making calibration at the timing when the detection precision of the line of sight position degrades, detection precision can be raised. As a result, the detection precision of the line of sight position can be kept high.

    【課題】運転者の視線位置の検出精度を高く保つ。【解決手段】車両周辺の明るさを検出して、車両周辺の明るさの変化量が所定量を超えた場合に、視線検出手段によって検出された視線位置を校正する。車両周辺の明るさの変化量が大きくなると、視線位置の検出精度が低下しやすくなると考えられる。そこで、車両周辺の明るさの変化量が所定量を超えた場合に、視線検出手段によって検出された視線位置を校正することとすれば、視線位置の検出精度が低下したタイミングで校正を行って検出精度を高めることができる。その結果、視線位置の検出精度を高く保つことができる。【選択図】図10
