PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe footstep for an escalator, capable of preventing injury from becoming serious when a passenger falls down and the head collides with a corner of the footstep without using an expensive device, and not promoting a fall of a passenger in a normal usage state.SOLUTION: A footstep for an escalator includes: a running board having a body part where a plurality of ridges parallel to a direction of travel are arranged in a width direction; a riser part which is coupled to the rear end part of the body part of the running board, and where a plurality of ridges are arranged in a width direction and a recess is formed between the ridges adjacent to each other; and an impact absorption cleat provided on a notch part formed in a corner part where the riser part and the running board are coupled. The impact absorption cleat has a plurality of ridges parallel to a direction of travel and arranged in a width direction, and a rear end face on the same plane as the recess of the riser part. Each of the ridges of the impact absorption cleat is arranged on a position with the shift of a half pitch from each of the ridges of the riser part, and formed by a high polymer material having a Young's modulus of 1000 MPa or less.
【課題】高価な装置を使用することなく、乗客が転倒して踏段の角部に頭部が衝突しても怪我の重篤化を防ぐことができ、また、通常の使用状態でも乗客の転倒を助長することのない安全なエスカレータ用踏段を提供する。【解決手段】進行方向に平行な複数条の山が幅方向に配列された本体部を有する踏み板と、この記踏み板の前記本体部の後端部において結合され、複数条の山が幅方向に配列され隣接する山間に凹部が形成された蹴上げ部と、この蹴上げ部及び前記踏み板が結合される角部において形成された切欠き部に設けられた衝撃吸収用クリートと、を備え、前記衝撃吸収用クリートは、進行方向に平行な複数条の山が幅方向に配列され、後端面が前記蹴上げ部の凹部と同一平面をなし、前記衝撃吸収用クリートの各山は前記蹴上げ部の各山と半ピッチずれた位置に配置され、ヤング率が1000MPa以下の範囲の高分子材料によって形成されることを特徴とするエスカレータの踏段。【選択図】図31
