PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure desired prediction accuracy for traffic congestion prediction in various types of running environments.SOLUTION: A traffic congestion sign detection device 10 including three-dimensional acceleration sensor 14 acquiring information on an acceleration in each of directions of an X-axis, a Y-axis, and a Z-axis forming an orthogonal coordinate system in a three-dimensional space executes a traffic congestion sign detection method. The traffic congestion sign detection device 10 calculates a vector of the acceleration acquired by the three-dimensional acceleration sensor 14, receives a norm of a difference between the vectors at two different timing as input data, calculates an auto-correlation of the input data, and calculates a power spectrum by performing a Fourier transform on the auto-correlation. The traffic congestion sign detection device 10 converts the power spectrum to angular information, and acquires time information indicating a change depending on time of the angular information. The traffic congestion sign detection device 10 corrects traffic congestion sign detection conditions using the angular information and the time information respectively, and excludes detected traffic congestion signs in response to at least any one of the corrected detection conditions.

    【課題】各種の走行環境における渋滞予測に所望の予測精度を確保する。【解決手段】3次元空間の直交座標系を成すX軸、Y軸、およびZ軸の各軸方向の加速度の情報を取得する3次元加速度センサ14を備える渋滞予兆検知装置10が渋滞予兆検知方法を実行する。渋滞予兆検知装置10が、3次元加速度センサ14によって取得された加速度のベクターを算出し、2つの異なるタイミングのベクターの差分のノルムを入力データとし、入力データの自己相関を算出し、自己相関のフーリエ変換によってパワースペクトルを算出する。渋滞予兆検知装置10が、パワースペクトルを角度情報に変換し、角度情報の時間に応じた変化を示す時間情報を取得する。渋滞予兆検知装置10が、角度情報および時間情報の各々を用いた渋滞予兆の検知条件を補正し、補正した検知条件の少なくとも何れか1つに応じて渋滞予兆の検知を除外する。【選択図】図1
