PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce friction in a motor drive unit for a vehicle.SOLUTION: A gear reduction part of a motor drive unit for a vehicle has: a revolving member (26a) which is relatively rotatably attached to an external periphery of an eccentric part (25a) at an internal periphery, and performs a revolving motion with an axial lined (O) as a center accompanied by the rotation of a motor-side rotating member (25); an external periphery engagement member (27) which is engaged with an external peripheral part of the revolving member, and generates a rotating motion of the revolving member; inside engagement members (31a, 31c) which are connected to a wheel-side rotating member, and take out the rotating motion of the revolving member at an inside diameter side rather than the external periphery engagement member; and thrust plates (29, 46a, and 46b) which slide-contact with an end face of the revolving member in an axial line direction. Low-friction processing shown by a dot and dash line is applied to a slide face of the revolving member which slide-contacts with the thrust plates.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
