PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately detect an overcurrent abnormality produced in a battery, when a current not to be desired to make electric conduction in the battery is different depending on battery charge/discharge and a temperature.SOLUTION: An overcurrent abnormality detection device 1 includes: a current detection unit 9 which detects a current flowing through a battery 2; a temperature detection unit 10 which detects the temperature of the battery 2; a threshold setting unit 121 which sets a threshold Ith according to a temperature detected by the temperature detection unit 10 while the battery 2 is being charged or according to a temperature detected by the temperature detection unit 10 while the battery 2 is being discharged; and an overcurrent abnormality detection unit 122 which detects the occurrence of the overcurrent abnormality in the battery 2 when the current, detected by the current detection unit 9, becomes the threshold Ith or larger.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
