PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear vehicle body structure of an automobile which can sufficiently absorb a load at a vehicle body rear part even if employing a material which is hardly buckled and deformed to a rear side frame by largely folding an intermediate part of the rear side frame to the inside of a vehicle width direction with a front side as a pivot, and load-absorbing and deforming a rear floor panel while load-absorbing and deforming a rear part of the rear side frame by compactly folding it from a rear side.SOLUTION: Front-side buckling promotion parts 14, 24, intermediate buckling promotion parts 16, 26 and rear-side buckling promotion parts 15, 25 are arranged at rear side frames 10, 20 so that the rear side frames 10, 20 are ridge-folded to the inside of a vehicle width direction, and vehicle fore-and-aft lengths of the front-side buckling promotion parts 14, 24 and the intermediate buckling promotion parts 16, 26 are set longer than vehicle fore-and-aft lengths of the intermediate buckling promotion parts 16, 26 and the rear-side buckling promotion parts 15, 25.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】リヤサイドフレーム後部をその後方からコンパクトに折曲げて荷重吸収変形させつつ、リヤサイドフレーム中間部を前側を支点として車幅方向内側に大きく折ってリヤフロアパネルを荷重吸収変形させることで、リヤサイドフレームに座屈変形させにくい材料を用いても、車体後部で充分に荷重吸収させ得る自動車の後部車体構造を提供する。【解決手段】リヤサイドフレーム10,20が車幅方向内側に谷折れするようリヤサイドフレーム10,20に前側屈曲促進部14,24と中間屈曲促進部16,26と後側屈曲促進部15,25とが設けられ、前側屈曲促進部14,24と中間屈曲促進部16,26との車両前後方向の長さが、中間屈曲促進部16,26と後側屈曲促進部15,25との車両前後方向の長さに対して長く設定されたことを特徴とする。【選択図】図2
