PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction method for eliminating a noise point that causes noise from a plurality of distance measurement points, the method being made to eliminate noise more accurately.SOLUTION: In an operation assist system, a laser beam is radiated to each of irradiation areas into which detection areas in which a target is detected are previously divided in horizontal and vertical directions into lattice form, and the reflected light of the laser beam is received in each of the irradiation areas, whereby a plurality of distance measurement points representing the coordinates of a target are obtained from each of the irradiation areas (S110). Also, on the basis of a degree of proximity in an angular direction, as seen from a reference point, between a plurality of object distance measurement points for which determination is to be made among a plurality of distance measurement points and/or a degree of proximity in a distance direction between the plurality of object distance measurement points, it is specified to the effect that at least one of the plurality of object distance measurement points is a noise point (S120-S140). 【課題】複数の測距点からノイズとなるノイズ点を除去するノイズ除去方法において、より正確にノイズを除去できるようにする。【解決手段】運転支援システムにおいては、ターゲットを検出する検出領域を予め水平方向および鉛直方向に格子状に区分した照射領域毎にレーザ光を照射し、それぞれの照射領域にてレーザ光の反射光を受光することによって、照射領域毎に得られるターゲットの座標を表す複数の測距点を取得する(S110)。また、ある基準点から、複数の測距点のうちの判定対象とする複数の対象測距点を見たときの複数の対象測距点間の角度方向の近接度合い、および複数の対象測距点間の距離方向の近接度合い、のうちの少なくとも何れかに基づいて、該複数の対象測距点のうちの少なくとも何れかがノイズ点である旨を特定する(S120〜S140)。そして、複数の測距点からノイズ点を除去する(S150、S160)。【選択図】図4
