PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase in the number of components and the cost when an automatic open/close function is added to a vehicle.SOLUTION: An automatic open/close control apparatus 10 for a vehicle 1 includes: a capacitance sensor 12 which is provided at a free end of an open/close section 5 of a vehicle 1 and is capable of detecting proximity of a person or an article in both directions of the inside and outside of the open/close section 5; and a control unit 13 which is connected to the capacitance sensor 12 to control the open/close section 5 to automatically open/close in response to detection by the capacitance sensor 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
