PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road gradient estimation device and a method of estimating road gradient that can accurately estimate an estimation value of a road gradient by excluding influence from unexpected disturbance, and that can prevent an erroneous estimation following the exclusion of the influence from the disturbance.SOLUTION: Determination means is provided for determining whether or not a correction gradient θy becomes closer to an estimation gradient θx during a time from receiving a stop command of a vehicle till the vehicle comes to a stop. If the correction gradient θy is determined by the determination means not to become closer to the estimation gradient θx by the time the vehicle comes to a stop, a correction of the estimation gradient θx by correction means is prohibited and an estimation value θz of a road gradient is configured to be set to the estimation gradient θx.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4

    【課題】予期せぬ外乱の影響を排除して道路勾配の推定値を精度良く推定できると共に、その外乱の影響の排除に伴う誤推定を防止できる道路勾配推定装置及び道路勾配推定方法を提供する。【解決手段】車両の停止指令を受信してから車両が停車するまでの間に、補正勾配θyが推定勾配θxに近づくか否かを判定する判定手段を備え、判定手段により、車両が停車するまでの間に、補正勾配θyが推定勾配θxに近づかないと判定した場合には、補正手段による推定勾配θxの補正を禁止して、道路勾配の推定値θzを推定勾配θxにするように構成される。【選択図】図4
