PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedal reaction force application device capable of providing a comfortable pedal operation feeling to an operator regardless of an operation direction of a pedal member.SOLUTION: A pedal reaction force application device 11 comprises: an accelerator pedal 30 used when pedaling operation and returning operation are performed; a motor 50 for applying a pedal reaction force acting on the accelerator pedal 30 during the pedaling operation and returning operation; a power transmission device including a deceleration mechanism 54 provided between the accelerator pedal 30 and the motor 50; an operation direction determination part 133 for determining an operation direction of the accelerator pedal 30; and a reaction force control part 139 for controlling the pedal reaction force of the accelerator pedal 30. The reaction force control part 139 controls the magnitude of the pedal reaction force by controlling motor power on the basis of the operation direction of the accelerator pedal 30 which is determined by the operation direction determination part 133.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
