PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that the occurrence of an undesired deformation in pawl parts of magnetic yokes is prevented when the magnetic yokes are secured to a yoke holder by caulking, in a torque detection device comprising a multipolar magnet formed in a ring shape and secured to a first shaft, the yoke holder having a cylindrical part secured to a second shaft that is coaxially connected to the first shaft via a torsion bar and surrounding the magnet, a pair of magnetic yokes each having a plurality of pawl parts facing the magnet inside the cylindrical part and secured to the yoke holder, and a sensor unit for detecting a difference in the rotational phases of the first shaft and the second shaft.SOLUTION: Caulking pieces 29c, 30c, each in plural number, that are caulked on the outer circumference of a cylindrical part 27b are provided on a pair of magnetic yokes 29, 30, respectively. The caulking pieces 29c, 30c are disposed on specific pawl parts 29a, 30a selected among a plurality of pawl parts 29a, 30a at positions lapping in the radial direction of the cylindrical part 27b and are formed so as to having a smaller width than that of the pawl parts 29a, 30a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
