PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stop position setting device and method by which a stop position of an own vehicle can be suitably set.SOLUTION: A stop position setting device comprises: a passage possibility determination part 103 which sets plural determination spots in a specified area, in which a travel planned route of an own vehicle is extended, along the travel planned route, and determines possibility and impossibility of passage of the own vehicle at each of the plural determination spots on the basis of external information acquired by an external information acquisition part 101 and own vehicle information acquired by an own information acquisition part 102; a region segmentation part 104 which sets plural stop regions segmented along the travel planned route in the specified area in the case that there is a determination spot which is determined by the passage possibility determination part 103 as to be passage-impossible, and sets priority for the plural stop regions; and a stop position setting part 105 which selects a stop position of the own vehicle in the plural stop regions on the basis of the priority and stop realizability as to whether the own vehicle can be stopped or not in each of the plural stop regions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】適切に自車両の停止位置を設定できる停車位置設定装置及び方法を提供する。【解決手段】自車両の走行予定経路が通る所定エリアに複数の判断地点を前記走行予定経路に沿って設定し、外部情報取得部101により取得された外部情報と自車両情報取得部102により取得された自車両情報とに基づいて、複数の判断地点の各々での自車両の通過の可否を判断する通過可否判断部103と、通過可否判断部103により通過不能と判断された判断地点が存在する場合、所定エリアに走行予定経路に沿って分割した複数の停止領域を設定し、該複数の停止領域に優先度を設定する領域分割部104と、上記優先度と、自車両が複数の停止領域の各々で停止できるか否かの停止実現性とに基づいて、複数の停止領域の中から自車両の停止位置を選択する停止位置設定部105とを備える。【選択図】図2
