PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound insulation device for an elevator hoisting machine that can effectively reduce noise emitted from a drive source, such as a motor part, by a simple configuration.SOLUTION: The sound insulation device includes: a composite vibration damping material provided at least one of an outer peripheral surface and an inner peripheral surface of a stator cover for covering an outer periphery of a stator constituting a motor; a multistage composite layer material provided at least one of an outer surface and an inner surface of a suction surface cover covering one lateral face of the stator cover.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
