PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "device and method for the tracking travel support" capable of determining whether or not a fuel consumption is deteriorated if the tracking travel is performed without making communications with the other vehicle.SOLUTION: A device and method for travel tracking support includes: a vehicle speed information acquisition part 1 for periodically acquiring vehicle speed information of an own vehicle during travel-tracking to the other vehicle; a vehicle speed change determination part 2 for counting-up a change frequency value in the case that a difference between the vehicle speed obtained this time and last time is at a predetermined speed or faster; a fuel consumption determination part 3 for determining if there is a possibility of the deterioration of a fuel consumption in the case that the vehicle speed change frequency per a predetermined lapse time is a threshold value or more; and a fuel consumption deterioration notification part 4 for notifying to the effect that there is the possibility of the deterioration of the fuel consumption. The device and method for the travel tacking support is enabled to determine whether the fuel consumption is deteriorated if the travel tracking is continued as it is without making communications with the other vehicle by determining whether or not there is the possibility of the deterioration of the fuel consumption from the situation of the vehicle speed change which fluctuates in accordance with the vehicle speed change of the other vehicle being currently tracked.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】他車両との間で通信を行うことなく、追従走行をすると燃費が悪化するか否かを判定することが可能な「追従走行支援装置および追従走行支援方法」を提供する。【解決手段】他車両への追従走行の実施中に、自車両の車速情報を定期的に取得する車速情報取得部1と、今回と前回の車速差が所定速度以上となる場合に変化回数値をカウントアップする車速変化判定部2と、所定の経過時間当たりの車速変化回数が閾値以上となる場合に、燃費悪化の可能性があると判断する燃費判定部3と、燃費悪化の可能性がある旨を報知する燃費悪化報知部4とを備え、現在追従している他車両の車速変化に合わせて変動する自車両の車速変化の状況から、燃費悪化の可能性があるか否かを判定することにより、他車両との間で通信を行うことなく、そのまま追従走行をすると燃費が悪化するか否かを判定できるようにする。【選択図】図1
