PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag ignition device that ensures an operating state without damage to a switching element even in the event that a failure occurs due to short circuit.SOLUTION: An air bag ignition device comprises a Low-side transistor 14 disposed downstream of a squib 20. Since the Low-side transistor 14 is overheated according to the presence or absence of a failure due to short-circuit, excess current flows in an overheat protection function protecting the Low-side transistor 14 and in the Low-side transistor 14. Therefore, at least one of excess current protection functions protecting the Low-side transistor 14 is operated or the content of the operation of the at least one function is altered.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
