PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction reduction device of a ship which improves friction resistance reduction effect while making simplification of the structure.SOLUTION: A friction reduction device of a ship comprises: a gas chamber 41 arranged inside of a ship hull 10; a bottom plate 27 which is a partition between inside of the gas chamber 41 and outside of the ship hull 10; a plurality of air outlet ports 42 arranged in the bottom plate 27; a compressor 43; an auxiliary air supply pipeline 46 by which the compressor 43 communicates with the gas chamber 41 in which a passage area of the auxiliary air supply pipeline communicated with the gas chamber 41 is smaller than an aperture area of the air outlet port 42; and a coated plate 64 which is arranged facing the air outlet ports 42 in which a communication passage P exists between the coated plate and the bottom plate 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
