PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo conveying device including an edge detection device which can identify an edge position of an object to be handled with high accuracy.SOLUTION: The cargo conveying device includes a laser scanner 10 irradiating an object to be handled with a laser beam and an edge position specification unit 20 inputted with a measured value of the laser scanner 10. The edge position specification unit 20 specifies the edge position of the object to be handled on the basis of the reflection intensity measured by the laser scanner 10. The edge position of the object to be handled can be specified with higher accuracy by using the reflection intensity measured by the laser scanner 10 as compared with the case of using only the distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】荷役対象物のエッジ位置を精度良く特定できるエッジ検出装置を備えた荷役搬送装置を提供する。【解決手段】荷役搬送装置は、荷役対象物にレーザ光を照射するレーザスキャナ10と、レーザスキャナ10の測定値が入力されるエッジ位置特定部20とを備える。エッジ位置特定部20は、レーザスキャナ10で測定された反射強度に基づき、荷役対象物のエッジ位置を特定する。レーザスキャナ10で測定された反射強度を利用することで、距離のみを利用した場合に比べて、荷役対象物のエッジ位置を精度良く特定できる。【選択図】図2
