PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular collision avoidance system and a vehicular collision avoidance method, which enable the correct grasping of a distance between a vehicle itself and an obstacle ahead even if the aforementioned distance is very small, thus making it possible to automatically stop safely with an appropriate distance maintained.SOLUTION: Control includes: calculating a braking distance bdk advanced from a temporal point of starting braking a vehicle itself 5 from data of an ABS brake device 3 provided in the vehicle itself 5 when automatically stopping the vehicle itself 5; calculating a residual distance db by subtracting the calculated braking distance bdk from a braking start distance d1; comparing the residual distance with a detected separation distance da detected by a separation distance detection device 2 provided in the vehicle itself 5, thus establishing a smaller value of the comparison as a for-stop-calculation distance dc; and applying braking for automatically stopping the vehicle against the for-stop-calculation distance dc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】自車両と前方の障害物との間の距離が非常に近くなっても、自車両と前方の障害物との間の距離を適正に把握することができて、適正な距離を維持して安全に自動停止できる車両の衝突回避システム及び車両の衝突回避方法を提供する。【解決手段】自車両5を自動停止する際に、自車両5に備わるABS用制御装置3のデータから自車両5の制動を開始した時点から進行した制動距離bdkを算出し、この算出した制動距離bdkを制動開始距離d1から引き算して残余距離dbを算出すると共に、この残余距離dbと自車両5に備わる離間距離検出装置2で検出される検出離間距離daとを比較して短い方の値を停止計算用距離dcとして、この停止計算用距離dcに対して自動停止するための制動を行う制御を行う。【選択図】図2
