PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leg opening type hydraulic shovel capable of suppressing reduction in stability at the time of leg opening.SOLUTION: A leg opening type hydraulic shovel comprises: a traveling body 10; a revolving superstructure provided on the upper part of the traveling body 10 in a revolvable manner; a work machine attached to the revolving superstructure; a hydraulic actuator for driving the work machine; a hydraulic pump for discharging pressure oil for driving the hydraulic actuator; and a motor for driving the hydraulic pump. The traveling body 10 comprises: a center frame 14 for supporting the revolving superstructure; left and right traveling devices 12 rotatably coupled to the center frame 14, the traveling devices being capable of opening their legs in a V-shaped form by extending an interval between front parts of the respective traveling devices; and a cylinder 67 for opening/closing the legs of the left and right traveling devices. The leg opening type hydraulic shovel comprises a restraining mechanism 70 for restraining rotation of the traveling devices 12 with respect to the center frame 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
