To provide a steering gear capable of enhancing turning performance influencing on propulsion performance as well as capable of enhancing propulsion performance.SOLUTION: A steering gear is provided with a wing-shaped port side rudder and a wing-shaped starboard side rudder with a protrusion on the propeller side on both sides of a ship propeller. The port side rudder is formed by a left front rudder fixed on a ship bottom, and by a left rear rudder provided behind the left front rudder and fixed on a left rudder shaft. The starboard side rudder is formed by a right front rudder fixed on the ship bottom, and by a right rear rudder provided behind the right front rudder and fixed on a right rudder shaft. A first angle to rotate the left rear rudder clockwise around the axial center of the left rudder shaft is set greater than a second angle to rotate the right rear rudder clockwise around the axial center of the right rudder shaft in a port condition. A fourth angle to rotate the right rear rudder counterclockwise around the axial center of the right rudder shaft is set greater than a third angle to rotate the left rear rudder counterclockwise around the axial center of the left rudder shaft in a starboard condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
