To provide a method and a device for accurately determining the presence or the absence of a heel-and-toe abrasion in a pneumatic tire.SOLUTION: The method for determining a heel-and-toe abrasion in a pneumatic tire includes the steps of: rotating a tire 1 at a predetermined rotational rate; measuring the sound pressure of a pattern noise; calculating an energy value E in a predetermined frequency range Δf from the measured sound pressure of the pattern noise; comparing the calculated energy value with an energy value E0 when the tire was new in the predetermined frequency range Δf; and determining that there is an abrasion in the tire if the measured energy value E is larger by at least a predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】空気入りタイヤのヒールアンドトウ摩耗の判定方法および装置において、正確にヒールアンドトウ摩耗の発生の有無を判定する。【解決手段】空気入りタイヤのヒールアンドトウ摩耗の判定方法は、タイヤ1を所定速度で転動させ、パターンノイズの音圧を測定し、測定したパターンノイズの音圧から所定の周波数範囲Δfでエネルギー値Eを算出し、所定の周波数範囲Δfにおける新品時のエネルギー値E0と比較して算出したエネルギー値Eが所定以上大きければ摩耗していると判定する。【選択図】図1
