To provide a vehicle detector capable of suppressing erroneous detection of a presence or absence of a vehicle while having a simpler configuration.SOLUTION: A vehicle detector comprises a projector and a light receiver which receives light emitted from the projector, and detects a vehicle according to a light receiving state of light emitted from the projector toward the light receiver. The projector is a polarized projector in which an amount of light radiated toward a vertically lower region than a straight line connecting the projector and the light receiver is smaller than an amount of light radiated toward a vertically upper region than the straight line connecting the projector and the light receiver.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】より簡素な構成としつつ、車両の有無の誤検知を抑えることができる車両検知器を提供する。【解決手段】車両検知器は、投光器と、当該投光器から投光される光を受光する受光器とを備え、前記投光器から前記受光器に向けて投光される光の受光状態に応じて車両を検知する車両検知器である。前記投光器は、当該投光器と前記受光器とを結ぶ直線よりも鉛直上側の領域に向けて放射する光の光量に対し、当該投光器と前記受光器とを結ぶ直線よりも鉛直下側の領域に向けて放射する光の光量の方が小さい偏向投光器である。【選択図】図2
