To provide an in-wheel motor type vehicle drive device which enables improvement of a speed reduction ratio.SOLUTION: This in-wheel motor type vehicle drive device 100 includes: a counter gear 21 having external teeth 21a which engage with external teeth 16a of a motor gear 16 of an electric motor 10; a planetary gear mechanism 101 to which driving force of the counter gear 21 is transmitted; and a hub 50 for transmitting driving force of the planetary gear mechanism 101 to a wheel 3 of a vehicle wheel 1. The planetary gear mechanism 101 is provided at a radial outer side of the counter gear 21, at least partially provided at an internal space 3a of the wheel 3, and includes: a first ring gear 24, a second ring gear 25, and a pinion gear 26 including a first gear part 27 which engages with the first ring gear 24 and the second gear part 28 which engages with the second ring gear 25 and has a diameter different from that of the first gear part 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
