To provide a stopping assistance device that sets an appropriate stopping point in accordance with an actual road environment.SOLUTION: A stopping assistance device 1 comprises: an information acquisition unit 171 that acquires information about an own vehicle and external environment information during travel from a camera 11, a navigation device 12 and various sensors installed in the vehicle 2; a stop candidate point detection unit 172 that, using as an observation point a position of the own vehicle at a point in time that the information is acquired, detects a stop candidate point lowest in possibility of being collided; an information storage unit 174 that stores the acquired information, the observation point and the stop candidate point in association with one another; and a target stop point setting unit 173 that, in a case where there is a stop request, specifies a stoppable range from the information about the own vehicle and the external environment information at a point of time that the stop request arises, and selects and sets, as a target stop point, the stop candidate point lowest in the possibility of being collided, which is within the stoppable range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】実際の道路環境に応じて、適切な停車地点を設定する停車支援装置を提供する。【解決手段】停車支援装置1は、車両2内に設置されたカメラ11、ナビゲーション装置12と各種センサから走行中における自車両の情報と外部環境情報を取得する情報取得部171と、当該情報を取得した時点での自車位置を観測地点として被追突可能性が最も小さい停車候補地点を検出する停車候補地点検出部172と、前記取得した情報と、前記観測地点と、前記停車候補地点とを関連づけて記憶する情報記憶部174と、停車要求があった場合に、停車要求が発生した時点での自車両の情報と外部環境情報から停車可能な範囲を特定し、前記情報記憶部に記憶した複数の停車候補地点の中から、前記停車可能な範囲内にある前記被追突可能性が最も小さい停車候補地点を目標停車地点として選択して設定する目標停車地点設定部173とを備える。【選択図】図1
