To provide a lock mechanism having excellent operability.SOLUTION: A lock mechanism 1 comprises: a rotor 2 that rotates between an engagement input position and a release input position; a knob 4 having a pressing part disposed outwardly in a radial direction relative to a knob turning shaft 4A, which rotates between a normal position and a release operation position; an engaging part having a pair of rods respectively connected to one and the other of a pair of rod connection parts, which changes a state between an engaged state and a released state accompanying a rotation of the rotor 2; a rotor energization member that energizes the rotor 2 to the engagement input position; and a knob energization member that energizes the knob 4 to the normal position. During an opening operation in which the knob 4 rotates from the normal position to the release operation position, the pressing part of the knob 4 slides on a receiving face R of the rotor 2 and presses the receiving face R to make the rotor 2 rotate from the engagement input position to the release input position, where (A)≥0.8×(B). (A) is a length of projecting a slide trajectory of the pressing part of the receiving face R on an axially perpendicular cross section of the rotor 2, and (B) is a length of an actual change in position of the pressing part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
