To provide a drive unit for a power-assisted bicycle, capable of suppressing consumption of a battery by suppressing fluctuations in auxiliary driving power from an electric motor.SOLUTION: A drive unit for a power-assisted bicycle, applying main driving power of forwardly rotating a crank shaft 7 through a pedal 9 and auxiliary driving power from an electric motor 17 corresponding to rotational torque of the crank shaft 7 to a driving wheel 4, includes: a first transmission body 21 connected with the crank shaft 7 to be integrally rotatable; a second transmission body 22 connected with a power transmission mechanism 10 transmitting power to the driving wheel 4, and an elastic body 23. The first transmission body 21 and the second transmission body 22 can relatively rotate within a range of a prescribed angle and can integrally rotate beyond the range. The elastic body elastically deforms by relative rotation to the forward-rotational direction of the first transmission body 21 to the second transmission body 22 to apply an energizing force in the opposite-rotational direction to the first transmission body 21.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】電動モータからの補助駆動力の変動を抑制し、バッテリの消費を抑えた電動アシスト自転車用の駆動装置を提供する。【解決手段】ペダル9を介してクランク軸7を正回転させる主駆動力と、クランク軸7の回転トルクに応じた電動モータ17からの補助駆動力とを駆動車輪4に付与する電動アシスト自転車用駆動装置であって、クランク軸7に一体回転可能に連結される第1伝達体21と、駆動車輪4に動力を伝達する動力伝達機構10に連結される第2伝達体22と、弾性体23とを備え、第1伝達体21と第2伝達体22とは、所定角度の範囲内で相対回転可能でかつ前記範囲を超えることで一体回転可能であり、弾性体は、第2伝達体22に対する第1伝達体21の正回転方向への相対回転に伴って弾性変形し逆回転方向の付勢力を第1伝達体21に付与する。【選択図】図2
