To maintain the occupant protection function even if one of the in-vehicle accelerometers used for detecting collision fails.SOLUTION: An occupant protection control device according to the embodiment comprises: a notification unit; a diagnosis unit; and a collision determination unit. When a failure of an in-vehicle acceleration sensor is detected, the notification unit notifies an occupant to install an external terminal equipped with an acceleration sensor in the vicinity of the in-vehicle acceleration sensor. The diagnosis unit diagnoses whether or not the external terminal can replace the in-vehicle acceleration sensor in collision determination. When the diagnosis unit determines that the external terminal can replace the in-vehicle acceleration sensor, the collision determination unit performs the collision determination using the external terminal instead of the in-vehicle acceleration sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2

    【課題】衝突判定に用いる車載加速度センサのいずれかが故障した場合であっても、乗員保護機能を維持すること。【解決手段】実施形態に係る乗員保護制御装置は、通知部と、診断部と、衝突判定部とを備える。通知部は、車載加速度センサの故障が検知された場合に、当該車載加速度センサの近傍へ加速度センサ搭載の外部端末を設置するように乗員へ通知する。診断部は、衝突判定において外部端末が車載加速度センサに代替可能か否かを診断する。衝突判定部は、診断部によって外部端末が代替可能と診断された場合に、車載加速度センサに代えて外部端末を用いた衝突判定を行う。【選択図】図2
